Grafida for Android

Grafida is open source software, licensed under the MIT License. See the LICENSE.txt file that ships with Grafida for the full licence text. Akeeba's older desktop Grafida, which this application replaces, is a different program under a different licence (GPLv3); nothing on this page applies to it.

Grafida incorporates the third-party components below, each of which remains governed by its own licence. The complete and authoritative list is the NOTICE.md file that ships with Grafida; what follows is a summary of the notable entries.

The European Portuguese editor language pack is derived by Akeeba Ltd from the MIT-licensed Brazilian Portuguese pack, as MIT permits, and carries the original notice alongside its own.

Rust libraries

Grafida is built on Tauri and on a large number of Rust libraries, almost all of them under the MIT or Apache-2.0 licences, with a few under BSD, ISC, Zlib or the Unicode licence. NOTICE.md lists every one that reaches the binary, together with its version and licence.

Mozilla Public License 2.0 components

Three libraries in the shipped application are licensed under the Mozilla Public License, version 2.0: cssparser, dtoa-short and option-ext. They arrive through Tauri and through the HTML sanitiser, and each is used unmodified.

A copy of the MPL 2.0 is available at mozilla.org/MPL/2.0.

Source availability. The complete corresponding source of each of those components, for the exact versions shipped with this application, can be obtained from the public crates.io registry at https://crates.io/crates/ followed by the component's name, and from each project's own upstream repository. On request, Akeeba Ltd will supply that source directly.

Data

Portions of the HTML character-reference data are derived from the WHATWG HTML Standard, © WHATWG (Apple, Google, Mozilla, Microsoft), available under the BSD-3-Clause licence for the data. See the named character references table.

Your API tokens and your content

Grafida sends your articles, pictures and API token to the Joomla site you connected, and to nothing else. It contacts no service of Akeeba's, collects no analytics and phones nothing home.

Your Joomla API token is stored in your operating system's own secret store and is never written to a file — see Requirements. Grafida will read a token that Akeeba's older desktop Grafida stored unencrypted in the shared database, so that your existing sites keep working, but it never writes one that way and marks any site whose token is stored like that.

A practical word

Publishing writes to a live website. Check what you are publishing, and keep backups of anything you cannot afford to lose — of your site, and of anything you have written here that exists nowhere else. See Drafts and Files.
